- Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Finance / Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day management of the council’s finances. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a varied finance role within a public sector environment offering stability, responsibility, and excellent benefits. The position is working a 30 hour week and candidates must have experience working in an accounts position previously.Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out daily financial transactions in line with council procedures
- Raising invoices and maintaining the sales and purchase ledgers
- Performing bank reconciliations and assisting with financial reporting
- Processing monthly payroll
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- General finance administration as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:- A good understanding of bookkeeping principles
- Previous experience using Sage Accounts
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Experience in customer service is an advantage
