Description

Our client based in Letchworth are looking for self motivated, hardworking and ambitious person to fill the Head Of Team role within their Owner Managed Business department.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Setting clear performance targets, monitoring outcomes, coordinating work planning and holding team members accountable. Fostering professional growth and skill development through targeted training programmes. 
  • Client Management: You’ll be the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and maintaining robust client relationships. Overseeing the preparation and delivery of statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns. Conducting thorough reviews to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards. Attending key client meetings to discuss strategic issues and identify opportunities for providing added value services.
  • Department Support: Managing client billing, credit control, and overall client account administration. Achieving and striving to exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the Head of OMB for both personal performance and client portfolio management.

Requirements 

  • Self-Motivated and Ambitious: A driven individual eager to advance their career within the company, demonstrating initiative and a strong desire for personal and professional growth
  • Technical Expertise: Must possess deep technical knowledge in corporate accounting and tax matters, including UK GAAP, FRS102, IFRS, and ISAs. Should be capable of serving as a technical resource and a first point of reference for team members
  • Supervisory Experience: Essential to have prior supervisory experience, with a proven track record of effectively managing and developing a team
  • Process Improvement: The ability to critically review and enhance existing systems and processes is highly desirable
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, with excellent proficiency in English
  • Professional Qualifications: Should hold an ACA or ACCA qualification, complemented by extensive experience in a practice setting
  • Prioritisation Skills: Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively, ensuring efficient workflow and deadline compliance
