Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Finance / Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day management of the council’s finances. The position is working a 30 hour week and candidates must have experience working in an accounts position previously.
Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out daily financial transactions in line with council procedures
Raising invoices and maintaining the sales and purchase ledgers
Performing bank reconciliations and assisting with financial reporting
Processing monthly payroll
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
General finance administration as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A good understanding of bookkeeping principles
Previous experience using Sage Accounts
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Experience in customer service is an advantage
