Description

We are recruiting for a Technical Engineer on behalf of our lovely client based in Harlow. They are a family run business, working within the Aerospace sector and due to an increase in business, are looking to grow their team.

​Covering a range of treatments such as Non-Destructive Testing, Electroplating, Anodising, Painting and Process Evaluation, The Technical Engineer will be a crucial part of the Engineering Team reporting directly to the General Manager.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Consulting with management, individual departments, and staff with regards to specification compliance and special processes compliance and with the Quality Manager, to ensure compliance to ISO9001 and NADCAP. Identifying root cause and corrective actions to answer both internal and external non-conformances
  • Consulting with clients and prime customers, to ensure compliance to requirements, identifying gaps or non-conformances and required concessions and with clients and prime customers, to amend internal process and data cards to meet specific operating demands or to bring the specification in to compliance with the latest regulatory surface treatment processes
  • Advising clients and prime customers on the most appropriate processing to meet their requirements
  • Consulting with certification bodies to ensure the retention and continued compliance with ISO9001, NADCAP and prime customer approvals
  • Identifying non-conformances, gaps and corrective actions using Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA). Then, if required consulting with clients and prime customers, to ensure compliance to requirements and required concessions
  • The generation of process data cards to meet specific client and specification requirements
  • Working alongside the Quality Manager to resolve technical issues

 

Requirements

  • Ideally a degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Applied Sciences.
  • Experience working in a similar role and environment
  • Some previous experience in Special Processes
  • It is essential you have a full understanding of Anodising, Electroplating, Electroless coatings, Conversion Coatings, Primers and Paints
  • You must have a good understanding of NADCAP and ISO9001
  • You will complete a series of exams, as part of the role, to hold certain customer approvals. The above skills are necessary to help you pass the assessment criteria and exams
  • An understanding of Non-Destructive Testing would be desirable
